Private healthcare in the UK is consultant-led and patient-directed. As a private patient, you have flexibility in appointment times and direct contact with the consultant you choose.

Your care may also involve other specialists (such as radiology, audiology, speech and language therapy, pathology or anaesthesia) working alongside Mr Bidaye where clinically appropriate.

You will decide together whether any diagnostic tests (such as blood tests or scans) are needed to make a diagnosis, and your consultant will discuss the treatment plan with you.

If you wish to pursue NHS-funded care instead, this is arranged through your GP via the normal NHS pathway. A private consultation does not provide a direct route into NHS treatment.

If you choose private treatment with us, you will be provided with detailed information about your condition and the treatment options available to you.

You will also be guided on when your treatment will take place, the follow-up that you may need, and how you can pay.

No. Many patients choose to self-pay for their treatment. Some may have private healthcare insurance from their employer.

If you do choose to use your healthcare insurance, you may want to check what is covered by your insurance provider, as you will still have to pay for any care that is not covered by your policy.

Patients may book a private consultation directly without a GP referral letter.

If using private medical insurance, patients should check whether their policy requires a GP referral, pre-authorisation or a claim number depending on their policy.

Initial consultation: £200 (30-minute slot). Follow-up consultation: £150 (30-minute slot). The consultation itself usually lasts approximately 20–30 minutes.

These fees cover the consultation only. The following are charged separately, and will be explained where possible before you proceed:

  • Investigations
  • Imaging
  • Pathology and laboratory tests
  • Clinic procedures
  • Hospital charges
  • Treatment

Once your appointment has been confirmed, Amanda will send you a secure patient-registration form through Semble together with a Welcome Letter.

Please complete the registration form and read the Welcome Letter carefully before attending.

You can book an appointment through our website or by contacting our secretary at secretary@bidayeentsurgery.com.
